METAL LASER CLADDING:
- Fusion of metallic powder (Nickel, Cobalt, Stellite, Iron, Copper-aluminium alloy, Hastelloy, Inconel, Monel, …).
- In a metallic base chosen for their particular properties (against corrosion, abrasion, erosion, cavitation, …), it is possible to incorporate in variable quantity, anti-wear adds, such as Tungsten carbide, ceramics or diamond.
- The substract (item where the cladding is operated) may be made from different kind of materiel such as steel, cast iron, Chromium cast iron, stainless steel, copper, aluminium,…
- The fusion energy comes from the laser beam, significantly reduced and precisely concentrated on the smelting bath.
METAL CLADDING THROUGH LASER:
- presents the advantage of a welded joint (highly resistant against mechanical stresses)
- gives the opportunity to add metallic powders specifically made to the requested purpose (large choice of metallurgy)
- transfers a very restricted amount of heat , due to the very intense but focalized laser beam (dimensional integrity of the cladded items)
- gives the opportunity to add a very thin layer of cladding with the requested metallurgical characteristics immediately available because of a very low dilution rate.
OPERATING PRINCIPLE :
- The project is completely studied and a CNC program is elaborated, first.
- The laser is produced through a diode source of 3,5 kW.
- The generated laser beam is guided through an optical fiber to the cladding head.
- The head focalizes the beam through lenses, integrates the metallic powder mix, eventually with the required adds, conveys the protection gas of the welded joint and the assembly cooling water.
- The head is fixed on a 5-axis machine tool, for which the head motions, the laser power, the powder flows are computer-driven, insuring a total reproducibility of serial works.
- Table length : 4500 mm – diametre : 1000 mm – weight to be handled: 2000 kg (not in-scope items: ask us!).
